500gramground beef
1/2small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of minced garlic
1tspsalt
1/2tspblack pepper

1egg
1/4cup breadcrumbs
Cheddar cheese slices
4burger buns
Sliced tomatoes, lettuce, onion slices
Instructions
Mix the ground beef with onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, and spices in a large bowl. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into medium-thick patties. Place the patties in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and grease it with a little vegetable oil. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side or until the desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and let it melt. Open the burger buns and spread mayonnaise on the base. Layer with lettuce leaves, a slice of tomato, the cheese-topped burger, and onion slices. Add sauces as desired and close the burger.
